When the sun is shining and the temperature rises, there's nothing quite like a refreshing iced beverage to cool you down and awaken your senses. Sipping on an Iced Caramel Macchiato is a delicious way to beat the heat during these last dog days of summer.

Today I’m going to show you a step-by-step guide on how to make the perfect iced caramel macchiato in the comfort of your kitchen.

Among the myriad of options, the iced caramel macchiato stands out as a delightful combination of smooth espresso, creamy milk, and a luscious caramel drizzle.

Origins of the Macchiato:

The macchiato, meaning "stained" or "marked" in Italian, is a traditional espresso-based drink. It originated in Italy, where a shot of espresso is "stained" with a small amount of milk foam. Over time, variations of the macchiato have emerged, including the popular caramel macchiato, which adds a touch of sweetness to the classic recipe.

What you will need to make Iced Caramel Macchiato: (Be sure to see the complete recipe below)

  • A tall glass (16 ounce)
  • Ice cubes
  • Espresso or strong coffee
  • Simple vanilla syrup
  • Milk
  • Caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream and of course extra caramel sauce for drizzling (totally optional but highly recommended!!)

How to make this amazing drink:

  • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top for the syrup, milk and coffee.
  • Give it a gentle stir, and your iced caramel macchiato is ready to be enjoyed!
  • If desired, top with whipped cream and an additional drizzle of caramel sauce. Pour the cooled syrup and milk over the ice and stir.

Next, slowly pour the cooled coffee over the milk/vanilla syrup mixture and very gently stir allowing it to mix with the sweet milk and create beautiful Drizzle the caramel sauce over the coffee and stir gently.

  1. Brew a shot of espresso or prepare a strong cup of coffee. Allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  2. To make the vBrewanilla syrup, combine ½ cup water and ½ cup white granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Mix well.Over medium heat let the sugar water come to a boil. Gently boil for one minute. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract. Let the syrup cool for a few minutes.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top for the syrup, milk and coffee.
  4. Pour the cooled syrup and milk over the ice and stir.
  5. Next, slowly pour the cooled coffee over the milk/vanilla syrup mixture and very gently stir allowing it to mix with the sweet milk and create beautiful layers.
  6. 5.Drizzle the caramel sauce over the milk, allowing it to sink into the layers.
  7. Give it a gentle stir, and your iced caramel macchiato is ready to be enjoyed!
